Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Wrongful termination due to pregnancy?

Hello, I am hoping you can help me. I was recently fired from after 3 1/2 years with the company. I have never received a written or verbal warning of any type. I have a near perfect attendance record, have received an increase and positive review each year (including my review 2 months ago), as well as annual bonuses (7.5% of my salary 2 months ago). I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and am at a loss for how to proceed. I am unsure if I can afford the Cobra insurance and although I realize prospective employers should not discriminate against pregnancy, let's face it - they do. With that being said, I am unsure how I will continue to contribute to our household income (we are a 2 income household - mandatory)until after the birth of our child. I have never been the type of person to persue legal avenues, however I really have no idea how to proceed and really feel stuck. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Re: Wrongful termination due to pregnancy?

If it was wrongful termination, you must file a complaint with the EEOC and any other relevant agencies.
