Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

my mothe rwent into the hospital on feb 17 2007 with collapsed lung, she was tubed twice (the first didn't work) we had to report a nurse that wasn't treating her right,

she was moved to another room and developed staph infection,

she then was moved to another floor. She didn't look right on wed.march 14 I told nurse- she sent fax to DR. saying i was concerned. he did not check her or send anyone to. she passed away the next evening.

should he have sent someone or not?
