Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Medication side effects

23 years ago in Cook County I tested positive for the TB virus and completed 6 months of anti-Tb drug therapy as required by law. In 1997 in DuPage County I applied for a foster parent license and had to pass a physical which included TB screening. I told them of my past history so they gave me a chest xray and gave me clearance to get my license. In 2004 I applied for a renewal of my license and was told that I had to take a TB test, I informed them that I was positive and that I can not be tested again and that they should have my record and they told me they could not locate my records and I had to submit to the test and when I came up positive they said I had to take the medicine for 9 months if I wanted to continue being a foster parent so I consented. I started having heart palpatations tingling in my extremities, my feet burn like fire my balance was off. I complained about this things and it was just brushed off it seems that their main focus was wether or not my urine was yellow. on my last visit I complained about the pain, they told me that the doctor will call me. Finally on Tues I passed out I now have peripheral neuropathy it is very painful I can't work before all of this I was a young fit active 57 year old.

Re: Medication side effects

It is possible that you are a victim of mecdical malpractice. The only way this could be assessed is to have you rmedical records reviewed by an expert to see whether the doctors who prescribed you the medication failed to follow the standard of care in this community in which they practice.

My office can help you make that determination.

I hope this helps,
