Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

My girlfriend has autistic child (14) who attends the public school. He fell off the stage when they were rehearsing (apparently he has 3 aids, but no one was by him). He received several stictches on the back of his head and the school took care of all the medical bills. She's asking me to inquire for her (she doesn't have internet) as to whether or not should could sue the Chicago public school. I'm not an attorney, but I would think not since they paid for his medical bills...

Nice effort, but your analysis is incorrect - payment of medical bills has no bearing at all on whether your friend can sue CPS. She might have a claim. What she needs to do is schedule a no-cost appointment with an attorney to discuss the particulars of her claim. School districts have special immunities that make litigation more difficult, however she needs to still sit down with an attorney to discuss.
