Administration of Probate Estates

If a person dies leaving no will, no living parents or children, and the brother died right after, who would pick the administrator, the brother's estate, or the brother's children?

You didn't say what your relationship was to the decedent.

The court will appoint an administrator, usually on the petition of the one who wants to named adminisrator.

In Illinois the heirs of a decedent in an intestate estate if there is no spouse, children, siblings or parents are the nieces and nephews.
