Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

My father was a tenant of a house since 1984, (after my maternal grand dad, who was there from around 1930). My dad died in 2010 oct, landlords have dispute over the ownership of this house. They refused to have me as a tenant. I went to rent control, submitting rent there since. My question is, if I take electric meter in my name, install split ac s, run tutorial, then what can they do and what should I do or should I dont do to avoid any legal or police trouble? They have already threatened me of ransacking my house by force and throwing me out. I am scared as I live alone.

See once a tenant always a tenant. A tenant cannot become owner. But you can resist your dwelling by filing case not to evict you except due process of law
