Who beomes the legal tenant now and how does one go about doing the changes? Is there a specific period within which the changes should be done?

Re: Tenancy Succession Rights

Dear friend,

With reference to your query, I am sending the following information for your consideration :

That after the death of your father ( a tenant ) you along with his other legal heirs become a tenant of the landlord automatically by the operation of law. The legal heirs have got a right to retain the possession of the property in question. But you must pay the rent regularly to the landlord and get the receipt for the payment made.

In case the landlord refuses to accept the rent the same can be got deposited in the court.

There is no stipulation regarding time frame.

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] for any further clarification.

Yours truly,

Raman Aggarwal
