Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

illegal shooting range

In recent months a shooting range has appeared in the midst of a residential area. According to the county, the range is grand fathered in, but all the evidence for this that they have is an old receipt for a single trap machine purchased in the 80's. Now the new owners have gone hog wild with developments (land excavation, landscaping, installation of several trap machines,..etc..) without any permits issued from the county. The noise level has sky rocketed. This hunt club is causing neighbors to look for alternative housing elsewhere. My question is: How do you fight against someone with lots of cash and the county commissioners in his pocket? Are there any legal funds we can draw from and/or organizations that can help? What can we do legally? One neighbor has hired a lawyer, but not a lot is being acomplished.

Re: illegal shooting range

Perhaps you and your neighbors should pool your funds so that you can counter the influence that you mentioned. It sounds like there may be some nuisance occurring and a court action may be necessary.
