Legal Question in Disability Law in Iowa

VA Discrimination

I would like your opinion on this if you have the time. Well first off I

got a job at the VA as a health tech. I have a 50% rating for PTSD. There

is a woman at work who has been harassing me on and off about having PTSD

which culminated in me writing her up in an official complaint and calling

the VA police when she tried to pin me in a chair. After the complaint my

boss decided to keep us together and switched me to the day shift, I had

been working evenings doing better than I have in months. So she puts us

on the same shift and a miss several days of work over the whole thing

because I cannot take it mentally. I told our union Pres. that I thought

being back on the evening shift would be a reasonable accommodation

like in the Americans with Disabilities Act. He is now telling me

that I need to take a janitor job or I will probably face being fired. I

also missed time off work because of the anxiety from my PTSD and facing all the obstacles of the day shift such as large crowds. All I want is my evening job back where my PTSD is under control. Is my request a reasonable accommodation? Do I have the right to sue?
