Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

Today, in the mail, I received a "Notice to Debtor of exemptions - Non-earnings garnishment". Number one, I have no idea what this is. Number two, it states that: "You are hereby notified that the court has issued an order in the above case in favor of the creditor whose name and address is given above, directing that some of your money, property or credits now in possession of the garnishee listed above be used to satisfy some of your debt to the judgment creditor." It continues on; but, it states that the "Bank of America, FSB is the Garnishee. And that they are also the original owner of the debt being collected. It doesn't state what is expected of me.

It appears that your bnk account is being garnished. The creditor is required to give you Notice when the garnishment is served upon the garnishee. It also appears that the creditor and garnishee might be one and the same in yoru case. The Notice of esemptions is your chance to contest the garnishment before the money is removed. You should have gotten instructions with yoru notice. If you believe the garnihsment is improper or your funds are exexempt, file the Notice of hearing that you also should have gotten with the Notice of Exeptions.

Good luck
