Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Child Support

Since my original child support order was submitted, i have become unemployed. currently i stay home to take care of my 1 year old (this child is with my new husband, not my ex with whom the order was filed with). my question is, because i choose to stay home, will the court impute income to me based upon my last employee wages or can i go to court and have my wages changed to zero and have a new child support worksheet calculated and submitted to the court?

Re: Child Support

The court can do one of two things. Impute your former wages to you. Or, impute minimum wages to you. If you are an able bodied adult that can work, income will be imputed to you.
