Legal Question in Employment Law in Kansas

5 years ago I got caught serving alcohol to a minor using a fake ID. I went to court and paid my fines and fees, but now that I'm applying for other jobs I'm finding that most of them ask, "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" Is serving alcohol to a minor a felony and if so, am I going to have to answer 'yes' for every job I ever apply for, for the rest of my life?

There are gradations of providing and selling alcohol to minors. Some are felonies. Get yrou own copy of yrou criminal background check, to see what it says about your conviction. Chances are that because you were allowed to just pay a fine, that it was not a felony. If that is the case you can probably answer "no" to the felony question, although you may not be able to avoid the general arrest or conviction question.

Good luck
