Credit History and your right to privacy

Can any business or other entity corporate or private enter into my credit history without my authorization or my knowledge of their inquiry? Is my credit history no longer private information that can be accessed by anyone who wishes to inquire?

Re: Credit History and your right to privacy

There are limits on who can access your credit history as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, as well as a state law in Maryland. Many accesses of your credit report will likely be legal access by your current creditors, who are allowed to do account reviews.
