garnishment (wage)

i filed a motion to stop a garnishment. what is the procedure i follow if the party that is garnishing me rejects the motion?

On what basis do you think you can stop a wage garnishment? If it is indeed even arguably improper, the court should hold a hearing on your motion where you can argue it and present any relevant evidence. But unless there was a big mistake (such as your name is John Smith and they got the wrong John Smith), there is little chance of stopping the garnishment. Garnishments are not issued until there is a final judgment, so the court has already determined that you owe the money. If that is the case, your options to stop the garnishment are to pay off the judgment, work out a deal with the Plaintiff, quit your job, or file bankruptcy.
