Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

benefits??

i am employed under a part time contract or agreement but i have been working 6 days a week for 8 and a half hours a night. are my hours full time hours? is it legal for the company i work for to make me work these hours? are they just avoiding payin benefits to me? in this situation do i deserve benefits? what actions can i take?

Need more info? What do you do? Do you work at their location? Are you being paid overtime for hours over 40? How many employees are there at the company and how are they compensated? what benefits do the "employees" recieve?

Basically, an employer can pay you hourly without giving you benefits. The keys that I hear are whether the employer is properly treating you as an employee or as an independant contractor? whether the employer properly has you classified as an hourly employee. whether the employer has treated you the same as other employees and if not, why not?
