Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

protection from someone getting injured on our property

A boy is riding atv's on our property and we do not want him to. If we were to send him a certified letter that they had to sign for telling them that they do not have permission to ride. Would this help us in court if this boy continues to ride on our property and would get hurt. This letter also states that if he continues to ride he is trespassing. Thank you for you help in this matter.

Re: protection from someone getting injured on our property

You stated it was a boy. How old is he? A certified letter to the parents and the boy would help and serve as evidence that you object to his trespassing on your property. However, if he is trespassing, calls to the police and written police reports would provide additional and better evidence of a trespass. A knock on the door from the police would send a clear message to the boy and his parents.
