Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

adverse posession

i live , work from, as a auto mechanic, and maintain the family farm. recently dad put the farm into a trust deed for myself and three other siblings who have never spent any considerable time here and have never contributed any help in maintaining. i have lived here since 1976 before that the farm was my grandfathers. after dad is deceased i'm sure i'll have to partition the courts to maintain my residence here. what are my chances with adverse posession? we are all tenants in common. in a fee simple deed.

Re: adverse posession

Unless there is an actual ouster (your overtly refusing access to other tenants in common), you cannot possess adversely to other co-tenants. You will have to buy out your co-tenants to maintain the right to live there to their exclusion.
