Michigan Divorce

My husband and I are going to file for divorce but we currently are still living in the same house until it sells. Can we still file for divorce? Or does one of us have to move out of the house now?

You can remain in the same house until it sells even if you go through a divorce. But this should be spelled out in writing. In what county do you reside?

It's still a free country. You are welcome to live under the same roof while going through a divorce. In fact, you can live together after you get divorced. The only danger is, you have more opportunities to drive each other nuts. William S. Stern
