Legal Question in Technology Law in Missouri

I have two issue...the first, according to my IT guy, have been pinged several times from use of a unsecured connection. The Second, my computer has received a remote install of spy software. My gril friend..has all but ammited to installing the software. This is illegal from everything i have read, since i own the compter and i am the only authorized user. When I find out which company software was installed is there any way to make them release who is recieving the information and do i have any recourse on the company and or the installer?

Your recourse is to get a decent internet security program which will block this. Legal action would be prohibitively expensive.
