Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

My boyfriend and I are trying to apply to get pre-approved for a house. However, there is a blemish on his credit report that shouldn't be there. About two years ago he lived in an apartment with his ex-girlfriend. She put her name on all the paperwork and signed all the documents. The apartment complex has even offered to provide documentation to say my boyfriend's name was never on the lease. Not only has the apartment complex reported negatively to the credit bureaus about him, because she ended up moving out and not paying $5,000+, his name is on court documents as owing the money and not showing up to court. How can we go about getting this resolved? Is there some legal action or anyone we should call to get his name cleared for his credit checks and through the legal system?

If he wasn't served in the court case, he needs to hire an attorney to have the judgment ser aside. He can contest the negative report,. But, he might not be able to until rafter he gets iit set aside.

Good luck
