Legal Question in Consumer Law in Nevada

New car contract

My wife spent 6 hrs at a car dealership (Saturn) and she was trading in her old car for a new one. They promised tinted windows and pinstriping on a white car. OK they even told her that she HAD to get it since they did not have a car without it at a cost of 1000.oo bucks. So BEFORE she saw the car she signed the contract for the new car. It showed up woth NO tinting and NO pinstriping so she knew they had lied to her. She said thats it forget it I do not want to do business with you and asked for her keys to the car she was going to trade in. They refused to give them back to her saying they had a signed contract and she had to take the new car. My question is..is the not a 3 day cancelation rule to protect the consumer in cases like this or what..my wife was sitting in her old car for 2 hrs waiting for her keys being herassed by these guys...I almost went crazy but I was at work and could not leave what can we do she does not want the car even though it is what she wanted she feels humiliated by waht happend..

thanks

Rick

Re: New car contract

There is no 3-day right to cancel a car contract that is done at the dealership. The 3-day right to cancel is an FTC regulation and applies to door-to-door sales.

Your wife may have other grounds to rescind the deal. An attorney needs to review the contract and all documents.

It seems clear that there was some fraud because she was told one thing and the car came without the tinting or pinstripes.

Did she get her car back?
