Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

guardianship

my sister passed away a week ago and she , myself and my fiancee have lived together for over 1 yr. my mom came from chicago and obtained temp custody of my nephew and a woman who was a friend of my sister's has co-guardianship. is this legal and can I fight it? I have lived in NV. for 3 yrs and am the closet living relative. my nephew is 5 yrs old and has no emotional ties to my nephew.

Yes, you can fight it. The biggest problem that we must answer is why didn't you try to stop your mother earlier. She had to have a co-guardian because she lives in Chicago.

Did your sister have a will? If she named a guardian there, whoever is named would have the best chance. Finally, what about your nephew's father?
