Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Teen Driver Liability

I have a 16 year old son that will be driving soon. I share joint custody with my ex-husband. If my son is driving a vehicle registered and insured (or possibly uninsured) under his dad and he gets into an accident that results in damage and/or injury to others, am I liable in any way?

Re: Teen Driver Liability

Yes, under the Family Purpose Doctrine the parents are liable for the auto accidents of kids under 18. It does not matter who has custody.
