Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada

inheritance is causing a legal nightmare.

Mother passed away, leaving in her will, exactly 50% of her home and all belongings it contains to me. And 50% to my nephew, her grandson. It gives no guidelines or directions on how or who the property should be managed.

I was living in the house prior to my mothers death. Soon after my nephew moved in.

We were getting along fine, until he decided to move out and have a lawyer take action on liquidating the property. I fought this action, as i wished to remain living in the home.

Eventually it appeared i would have to leave, until the contact from the lawyer suddenly came to an end. I thought things would be ok.

until my nephew showed up announcing he was moving in along with his new wife. by this time we were no longer close, but the home is half his acc. to the will.

He had defaulted on a condo he also owned.

since moving in with me he has had his vehicle repossed, been fired from his job, has never paid a single bill including the house tax, and

both are very abusive even being arrested but later let go.

I live in fear for my life, is there anything i can do legally?

sincerely, chris

Re: inheritance is causing a legal nightmare.

A review of the probate court file by an experienced lawyer is indicated under these circumstances. A civil restraining order might also be pursued. I wouldn't expect these processes to be simple or inexpensive. You may owe rent for the value of your occupancy.
