Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

If you are on probation in New Jersey and get arrested in New York for a new crime, what could happen once you are released from NY detention center? My boyfriend is on probation for 3 years in New Jersey (two cases with the same charges combined into one, charged with theft by deception and burglary) and was arrested three weeks ago in New York (charged with aggravated harrassment and trespassing). The judge set his bail at 15,000 and after posting the 10% with a bondsman, the judge denied bail because a secured bond was placed on his case. He has served 21 days as of today, and appears in court this afternoon, with hope of being released on time served. Is that possible? And what could happen when he reports to his probation officer once he is released?

They will likely violate his probation. He should talk to a NJ attorney to see if this can be worked out to time served.
