Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

attorney fees

please advise the law if one exists on lawyers providing their clients a detailed billing. i was told at least once a year its been four years on a matter i have. or is it only when requested. this matter i have received all clerical invoices but none on the law firms legal hours.

You are entitled to a detailed bill. If a retainer was used, you are entitled to know what part of the retainer has been applied to the bill.

There is no general rule regarding monthly statements, however, you are entitled to a detail as to the amount being charged.
