Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I run a stop sign without seeing it, and made an accident

I drive in a dark night, and did not see the stop sign, even did not see the road, a nother car comes and we got collided. No one in my car hurt, the driver in that car hurt his arm. I'm not running the stop sign intentionally, I just did not see it. will I got serious punishment? how will I be punished? Thanks

You ran a stop sign, caused a car accident, and hurt another person. This is a very serious matter. I would strongly suggest you consult with and probably hire a lawyer to defend you in this case. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in NJ in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-

Re: I run a stop sign without seeing it, and made an accident

Ron is right, this is serious. It is a statutory offense, meaning you did it, intent does not matter, unless you can prove the conditions made the sign unseeable, which I suspect will be VERY difficult or impossible. You would normally get tickets for failing at least failure to stop and careless driving or reckless driving. An attorney will maximize your chances of getting away with the fewest points. Good luck.

Hope your insurance is paid up, because the law suit will be more important then the ticket. Did you get any other tickets? If this is all you got, you could probably still get 0 points depending on your record.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

If your not seeing the stop sign was reasonable in that it was not visible you are not guilty.

Call me if you like.
