Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Boyfriend and I broke up and I cannot afford to live on my own with our 6 month old child, can move out of state with family where I will be helped tremendously?

More information is needed. Has he established himself as the legal father?

If not, you can leave New York without requesting permission fromt he court or giving notice to the father.

Is there a custody/visitation order? If so, the safest thing to do is to request modification to leave the state. Undoubtedly, his court ordered visitation would be interrupted if you moved several states away.
