Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Pro Se Switch to Attorney Possible?

I am filing and serving a Notice of

Appearance in which I list myself as my

representation (pro se). If I find that it

would be in my better interest to have an

attorney, would I be able to switch?

Yes, you may inform the Court (the Judge) that you have decided to retain counsel after you initially stated that you wanted to appear pro se.

Yes. You can switch at any time, as long as it does not unduly delay the case.
