Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my son is now 18yrs old and has decided to live with me. i had paid an agreeed amount of child support between me and my ex for 8 yrs. should my ex now be paying me child support and could he try to sue me for the correct amount in NY for the past 8 yrs?

If the court order requires you to pay child support for your son until he is 21, you have to pay until the court relieves you of your obligation. As a result, you should file a petition for modification of the order.
