Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

An organization has copy's of all my information and they are demanding for me to give them $300 for there help. They said that I have to pay because they helped my fill out I 130 paper that I already filled out at home before going to there office which basically did not have any mistakes on it but they took it any way and kept on saying that there are lots of mistakes. Once they finished they didn't ask for any money until a week later. I didn't send the paper they worked on because it had many mistakes that I had to fix at home again. Know they will not give me my papers until I pay them what should I do?

You should report them to the FTC or BBB. This is why it is never recommended to use an non lawyer to prepare your case. Good luck

I suggest also reporting them to the Dept of Homeland Security.

If they only have copies of your information, then I don't see why you would need that returned.

The worst they could do is take you to small claims court, but I doubt they would do that if they are practicing law without a license & trying to hold your documents as collateral.

REPORT THEM ASAP.
