Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My boss sent a written letter to human resources saying I threatened my coworker with physical violence. when in fact I made a benign statement saying that she was harassing me and I'd kill her. I am a 59 year old female.

Did you have an opportunity to dispute this statement?

Did you file a complaint against the person who has been harassing you? If you haven't you should.

You should go to your HR office and file a written statement disputing your supervisor's comment.

You should also ask to see your file.

if you have any witnesses to your actual statement get their statements in writing and have them placed in your file.
