Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Discrimination based on credit report identity theft?

I applied for a job and recently

discovered, because of a credit check

the company did, that my identity

had been stolen and that my social

security number has been used by

someone else. Because of this, the

company is giving me the run

around because they believe now

that I am a ''security risk''. This

concerns me because I am 20 yrs old

and have never applied for a credit

card or otherwise, so I had no prior

knowledge this was occurring. I am

running around trying to clear this

mess up, and in the meantime I am

just getting put off from this

company because of things out of

my control. Is this considered a form

of discrimination? How am I able to

clear my name and restore my

rights?
