Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

My question is...my mother has been working for a company for over 30 years and she was recently laid off from the company.

She was given a severance package that only consisted of 5 weeks pay. Can she file a law suit for the amount of weeks pay?

She should file for unemployment insurance.

Unless she has a signed contract setting forth a greater amount of severance, you will be spinning your wheels.
