Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

If my house is put in my children's name and one of those children dies does the spouse of that child get a portion of the house if it is sold.

Depends on whether the children are Joint Tenants or Tenants in Common. In the first situation, the surviving owners receive the share, In the second, it is part of the estate ofd the deceased child.
