Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

Embezzlement Charges / Sentences

I am currently facing probably 3-5 counts of felony embezzlement for somewhere in the neighborhood of $7,000 - $10,000. I plan to work out a restitution agreement prior to my arraignment. I have no prior criminal record. I'm curious as to what to expect my general sentence will be. Probation? Deferred sentence? I do plan on paying restitution but it probably won't all be paid back before the arraignment.

Re: Embezzlement Charges / Sentences

Having a workable restitution plan in place, and having begun to make payments under it, is an excellent strategy to take to sentencing.

If it is a legitimate, doable, plan, I would expect a firs-offender to receive probation, providing the crime did not involve a federally-insured financial institution [FDIC].
