Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Help Wanted

My wife and I plan an absolute/uncontested divorce. She moved to another state last Oct. 13. She applied for and received at New York driver's license sometime last November. When may I file papers with the Rowan County (NC) Clerk of Courts office?

You didn't say when you two actually separated-- could it have been before she moved to another state? Either way, you can file for the divorce a year plus a day after the date of separation. Go to your local court's clerk's office-- they might have forms to do it yourself. Good luck.
