Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Medical Bills

My late mother left a lot of medical bills and no estate, my father is also dead. Are the children living in the same house required to pay these bills or can a note be sent saying sorry she is dead?

Re: Medical Bills

Any assets that you received for your parents after their deaths, including the house, must be used to pay off their debts before you can receive those assets. These debts include the medical bills, and a mortgage, if any. You may have to sell the house if your parents owns it before death.
