Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

modifying custody order

a shared parenting agreement was inforced by the courts in 2001 for my daughter whom is now 6. Her father and i were never married. I want to change the order due changes in our lives ie: her schooling being affected, severe cases of head lice when coming from her fathers, ect. what obstacles am i going to face when dealing with this. I would like this to go as smoothly as possible but i know he is going to fight me. i want full custody through the school year with his visitation every or everyother weekend, his paying of childsupport since there has been none issued thus far and if all runs smoothly we could revert back to him seeing her more in the summer months when things will not be affected. Is this feesable.

Re: modifying custody order

You basically have to prove that the prior shared parenting plan you entered into is no longer in the child's best interests, and that said child's interests would be better served by full custody with you. In the absence of an agreement, be prepared for a long battle.
