Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Paternity

When I gave birth I stated the father was unknown because it was not a good situation for me - (a one night stand) and now the father who I don't have anything to do with and never received any support from left a message on my cell phone and wants a paternity test. What are my options?

Re: Paternity

There must have been some earlier discussions about this pregnancy before now. You would not receive support unless and until a determination of paternity is made. Who is on the child's birth certificate? I take it you were not married at the time of conception/birth?

Sometimes you get what you pray for, he takes the paternity test, he becomes the father, he pays child support. If he refuses, go to your Dept of Revenue or similar agency and get the support.
