Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

inheritance

My father left me his remaining money in his will. (I am his sole heir.)As he was on Medicaid, the only amount in his checking is $300. The bank will not let me have the money unless I go through probate--costing more than $300. The will is registered with the court. If I--the legal heir--electronically move the money to my account, can the bank level any charges?
