Legal Question in Immigration Law in Oklahoma

Good day, I am from South Africa, I came to the US on a visit visa to see my boyfriend for 6 months, while i decided where to go next. During which we got engaged. We we're previously engaged, then postponed it. Can we get married here, and then can I apply for residence so that I dont have to leave?

Yes, it might be possible to marry and then apply for adjustment of status (residency or green card) based on a bona fide marriage to a US citizen.
