discovery packet

my son is in state prison on unrelated charges then was charged with intent to deliver possession of controlled substance sell noncont subs repres subs contr, he was never sent these cahrges,arraigned or anything, didn't know till i told him in a letter that it was in the news paper, no one will tell me anything or how i can get his discovery packet. how do i do this

If your son is currently in prison, he will be arraigned there and the case will proceed through Preliminary Hearing, Formal Arraignment, Discovery, Pre-Trial, and Trial in a normal fashion. He really needs an attorney or public defender the same as if he was not in prison on the unrelated charges.
