Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania
I hired a lawyer for an auto accident in pa. I have never received updates unless I call, the paralegal is rude and keeps telling me my case is not worth much thenshe said the other person's insurance company says i overtreated , she said maybe they could get me 5000.00 or i could file suit, she then asked what would it be because if i want to sue the lawyer shouldn't waste his time trying to settle if i won't take 5000 i have complained to the head of the firm he has not responded they also have not filed suit for me, i have never seenany paperwork what do i do? thanks

1. I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated. 2. I suggest scheduling an office appointment with your lawyer (not the paralegal) to review the case & obtain his/her analysis. 3. If in the end you & the lawyer have very different perceptions of the case, & you have lost confidence in the lawyer, you can try to get a 2d opinion from an experienced injury lawyer, or try to hire another experienced lawyer to take over the case. 4. All that being said, assuming your lawyer is experienced in injury cases, & can provide you with valid reasons for his/her assessment, I strongly suggest you consider what the lawyer advises you. One of the most common complaints against lawyers is that of a lack of communication. You have a right to review your file, and transfer yourcase to another attorney, if you are dissatisfied.
What should you do? Fire that lawyer and hire an experienced personal injury lawyer that will pay attention to you and your case.
