Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

90 Day divorce in S.C.

My wife and I are getting a divorce due to her committing adultery. We have no children, no property, etc. Pretty much we want a ''just sign the papers'' divorce. Is there any way to do a 90 day divorce without involving the courts and paying loads of money?

Re: 90 Day divorce in S.C.

Only the Family Court can grant a divorce in SC, so there's no way to get a divorce without involving the Court. Fault ground divorces, such as adultery, take at least 90 days.

If your wife is not contesting the adultery allegations and if there are no financial issues, it should not be long, difficult, or expensive.

Nonetheless, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to make sure that your case is handled in the correct manner to avoid problems down the road.
