Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

family law

i have a friend who at the time of his divorce had the means to meet the demands his ex required. since then he has taken out loans and everthing short of his life she has really taken him, is there any way that he can take her to court and get out from some of the rediculous demands if so how does he start? (his children are over 21 and he is still paying through the nose for bottled water!)
