Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Retain

Can I get part the retain or at least part of the retain from an attorney that I think is pulling one over on me.

Re: Retain

You should consult your fee agreement to see what it says about terminating your attorney. Typically, the unused portion of your retainer can be refunded, sometimes even if the fee agreement says that it is non-refundable.

The SC Bar has a Fee Dispute Resolution Board that you may want to consult for assistance. You can learn more about this option at http://www.scbar.org/public_services/fee_disputes/

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com). I wish you the best of luck.
