child custody

my son was given up for adoption without my consent. i am not on the berth certificate but i am willing to take a maternity test and the mother is willing to help me. what is the best way to go about getting my son back?

First, I assume you are the father, so it's a paternity, not maternity, test. Second, the mother must have sworn to the Court she didn't know who or where you were to do this without you knowing about it, so why would she admit to perjury and help you now? Third, why is it in the best interest of the child to take him away from his home?

You need to sit down with a good attorney who handles lots of adoptions in the state where the adoption occurred and go over the entire situation. Once he or she has all of the details they can give you an idea of your chances and the cost.
