Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Will he have priviliges to my belongings

If I marry someone who is in Bankruptcy will that bankruptcy automatically transfer to me or be my problem as well? Also if I purchased some land and have a trailer home and a buisness once I marry this person will half of my belongings pertain to him as well?

Yes and No.

What you own and what you owe before marriage is separate. However, you have to be extremely diligent not to comingle those assets and debts. If a separate property or debt does not remain 'purely separate' then the assets and debts of the spouse become subject to litigation. Retain a lawyer if you have any questions.
