Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Who is responsible?

My ex and I live in different states. My son lives with me. We haven't filed for custody. Who should pay for the travel expenses when he wants to see my son? And also can I receive back child support if I don't have an existing child support order?

Re: Who is responsible?

Travel expenses are usually negotiable, and factors to be considered is which party moved away, the respective incomes of the parties, the age of the child, etc.

You can get back child support even though there is not an order in place, but you have to file for custody and the back child support.
